Strategic Consolidation In Rotary-Wing Maintenance
In alignment with the dynamic logistical requirements of our operational network, Redstar Aviation has executed a comprehensive restructuring in its rotary-wing maintenance architecture. Following the strategic relocation of our offshore base activities to Filyos in the Black Sea region, our maintenance operations have been redesigned to maximize technical efficiency. As a result of this process, our Turkish DGCA-approved SHT-145 Maintenance Organization capabilities have been expanded to include full Base Maintenance for the Leonardo AW139 (PW-PT6) helicopter fleet at our Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) main headquarters.
Operational Agility
Previously, our rotary-wing maintenance activities and offshore helicopter operations were managed from our facility at Atatürk Airport (AHL). However, the shift of our offshore operations' center of gravity to the Black Sea region necessitated a transition to a more centralized and integrated maintenance strategy.
Rather than dispersing our technical resources, we initiated a consolidation process to gather our primary maintenance capabilities under the larger infrastructure of our SAW headquarters. This transition enabled the supply chain to become more streamlined, the distribution of the workforce to be optimized, and operational coordination to be enhanced.
10,000 FH / 8 Years Inspections
As part of this strategic centralization, the authorization obtained for the SAW hangar is not limited to line maintenance. Redstar Aviation now possesses full Base Maintenance authorization for the Leonardo AW139 fleet at both its SAW and AHL facilities under its own SHT-145 approval.
This approved scope encompasses heavy maintenance events, including inspections up to 10,000 Flight Hours and 8 Years. The ability to provide services within this scope demonstrates the robust engineering infrastructure established at our facilities, our technical expertise, and the adequacy of our specialized equipment capabilities.
An Integrated Hub for Fixed and Rotary-Wing Fleets
The most significant outcome of this capability expansion is the transformation of the SAW Hangar into a fully integrated technical hub. By consolidating maintenance activities for fixed-wing business jets and rotary-wing offshore helicopters under a single roof, we have established an integrated structure that enhances inter-departmental coordination and technical efficiency.
While our AHL facility will actively maintain its authorization and infrastructure to support ongoing operations, the SAW Hangar will strategically serve as Redstar Aviation’s primary integrated maintenance center going forward, providing data-driven, reliable, and centralized technical support for our entire fleet.
