The Land-lease Agreement, for the construction and operation of aircraft maintenance hangar and hangar apron, signed between HEAŞ – Airport Management & Aeronautical Industries Inc. and Redstar Aviation.
Following the structural and organizational change in 2014 after its establishment in 1989, Redstar Aviation is pursuing to further support the national economy by creating new opportunities for investment and employment. Now, Redstar Aviation has opened the gates to a new era at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, where it had spent the majority of its business lifespan with the philosophy of becoming a pioneer and leader in the field of aviation.
In its field, Redstar Aviation stands as one of the very best operators in the world and by far, a leader in the country by virtue of the capacity of service and fleet size. In line with its growth targets, with the purpose of developing the abilities of operation, management, training and maintenance, in addition to a 1500sqm hangar premises at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Redstar Aviation has re-established its strong presence at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport which has served an important role in the local & global aviation industry. Within the scope of this new signed contract, an area of 6000sqm has been allocated to Redstar Aviation for the purpose of construction of a brand new hangar and hangar apron area to expand its capabilities.
Redstar Aviation’s return to Sabiha Gökçen International Airport—which is where the company took its important first steps in the development and establishment into what it is today—after a four-year hiatus is stronger than before, and will increase the company’s motivation, confidence and pride in further propagating the value added to the country's economy.
With the signing of this contract, HEAŞ General Manager Mr. Hüseyin SAĞLAM has expressed his joy by underlining the importance of interest from foreign investors, especially in the pandemic setting and has stated that his faith in the growth and development of Sabiha Gökçen International Airport has been riveted. He has added; “I wish this cooperation between HEAŞ and Redstar Aviation will last a long time, thank you very much and best wishes.”
